Community spirit shines through at 24 hour charity match

When Gregor Forrest was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer late in 2019, an idea to raise some funds for family blossomed into a great community event. The 24 hour football match, the first of its kind in Taranaki, was held on the 24th and 25th of January at New Plymouth Rangers to not only fundraise but to raise awareness that cancer can affect anyone. The charity match was the idea of young footballers Albie Francis-Alles and Cohen Forster who play for Francis Douglas Memorial College. First Team Coach Announcement

New Plymouth Rangers AFC has announced that Manuel Luque has been appointed as the Federation Team Coach for the 2020 season. Manuel comes with a wealth of experience and knowledge within football in Taranaki. He has his UEFA B License and he previously coached our junior academy programmes as well as the clubs Prem team. The squad has been training for two weeks now with a heavy focus on fitness and conditioning however more of the ball will be introduced in the coming weeks. We look forward to a successful season on and off the field.
