Defending champions are back in town

Peggy Gordons New Plymouth Rangers welcomes Palmerston North Marist to Yarrow Stadium on Sunday knowing that both teams will be looking to get back on track. Rangers had the bye last week but went down to Havelock North the week before and know a much better performance is required. On the other hand Palmerston North Marist went through the 2018 season unbeaten to claim the title however they have already tasted defeat in this campaign, also to Havelock North. Rangers make a fine start to 2019

On Sunday Peggy Gordon's New Plymouth Rangers met Hokowhitu from Palmerston North in the first Lotto Central Federation match of the season at Yarrow Stadium. Boasting five players making their competitive debut for the club, NPR made a great start to the match. It was however Hokowhitu who made the breakthough after a great strike from outside the box by ex Eltham player Joeb Cadman. This seemed to spark Rangers into an extra gear and they found two quick goals from man of the match Taku Warren.
